About time....

As promised (and only about five months late) here is a recap of our awesome summer adventures!

Josh and I were lucky enough to spend some time in Europe. We took along our niece Rilee to join in on all the fun. Here are some highlights. Beware- there are a ton of pictures!

We flew through Iceland to our first stop: Copenhagen, DK



We only spent a day in Copenhagen- just enough time to rent a car and catch up on sleep. Then we drove 10 hours through Germany to a little town in France (just to add another country to the list!). The second day we came back into Germany and visited the little spa town of Baden Baden. It was beautiful!





Then we drove through the Black Forest to Southern Germany- we camped on Lake Bodensee, but drove into the nearby town of Konstance to get some grub and watch Germany stomp on Ghana in the World Cup.



The next day it was on to Fussen to see Neuschwanstein.





Rilee's solution to a time crunch... "Come on guys- we'll read it later!"...ha ha



We stayed in the cutest little ski town just across the border in Austria- Rilee was pretty amazed by the old fashioned key!



Our usual lunch consisted of bread, meat and cheese... from a place like this






Once we had food- it was off for our drive through the Alps.



It was a gorgeous drive, here are some scenes from along the way.




Then it was just following the pretty blue river all the way to Salzburg.



We spent a few days in Salzburg with some friends of friends the Malzls. They were gracious hosts and were definitely instrumental in making this the best part of our trip! It may have also had something to do with the most gorgeous scenery I have EVER seen. Hitler may have been crazy, but I sure understand why he chose this place to impress his guests.

It was really hard to say goodbye to Austria and Southern Germany, but there was more we wanted to see! This post is getting extremely long, so I will continue with the rest of our trip in another post- soon I swear!
